Meet the Team......

I thought it would be only proper for me to introduce you all the wonderful people I have the privilege of working with on this foundation.... This is the family that DLD has created. A group of people from around the country who started out originally with one common goal, and now a year later, there is a wonderful and special bond- another gift from our special furkids!!

Introducing....
Founder and CEO- Brigitte Reeve- Taylor.

Brigitte founded Dancers Love Dogs last year May, after saving a precious little boy Miles from the side of a busy Free-way. Since making that decision, her vision has seen more than 1000 animals sterilised.
Brigitte lives in Cape Town, where she is still incredibly involved in the dance world, teaching at the Waterfront Theatre School, BRDC, and being invited to teach at various dance conventions both internationally and locally.
This picture captures Brig completely, she loves with her entire being and gives of herself tirelessly. She is an inspiration and mentor to all animal lovers and dancers. She is incredibly funny, a wonderful and supportive friend, and to all those whose lives she touches, most importantly our beautiful furbabies, she leaves a pure and positive light. We are incredibly lucky to have her as CEO/ founder of our foundation.

Our Numbers lady- Bookkeeper, Robyn Dawson.

Robyn Dawson, our beautiful bookkeeper. A lady who for one, has my utmost respect for working with numbers....Robyn, you are awesome.
With donations, sponsors, ticket sales, raffles and the list goes on, Robyn manages to keep all the number in check, all the while juggling being a mother to three beautiful little girls, and working!! My utmost respect!
Robyn is also based in Cape Town, and we consider ourselves incredible spoilt to have her on our DLD team.

The gorgeous Debbie Hadley- our secretary and Graphic Designer.

Well where do we start with this lady? Debbie is hands down, without doubt, the most organised person you will come across, along with Miss T our JHB organiser. :) Debbie is the lady we all phone, when its time for posters, programmes designs, well pretty much anything. Debbie has spend countless hours, and late nights or rather early mornings editing and re-editing programmes for shows, replying to our frantic emails and well just being amazing! This gorgeous gal, is also based in Cape Town- I'm looking into how to get her cloned, so as to have a Debs close and on hand always- it would be hard to actually say thank you to you for all your hard work, never ending support, and wonderful, positive light!

The wonderful Miss Tina Fraser- Johannesburg coordinator.

Well here we have an incredibly special lady! Tina is beyond organised, and the most loving, warm lady you will ever come across! With Miss T in JHB, everything is smooth sailing and stress free. Tina is based in Johannesburg, where she runs Global Dance Conventions- being the go- to lady, for teachers and visiting dancers to SA. During oganising, before you have even thought of a problem, Tina has already solved it. Such a positive force within the team, always ready and eager to help any one of us. I have adopted her as my JHB mom, and recently, me and Brig "took over" her home on our trip to PTA, and so I now have an adopted Mom, Gran, Muffin, Munchie and Pattie - and I am so much richer for it!!!

The Marvellous Media Lady- Nicole Elise Pahl

Now, here we have a talented gal!! This lovely lady, based with me in sunny Durbs, is our Media networking "Fundi", walking Thesaurus/ dictionary and a wonderful source of entertainment, fun and humour. Nicole is the lady responsible for our website, twitter account and most online networking and advertising we have managed to make. Fun and vivacious, I am proud to call this lady my friend. Without Nics, we would not have reached half the "audience" we have. I am slightly behind the average person regarding technical advancement, and so Nics- you are my hero!!:)

The Handsome man on our team, Greg Taylor.

This handsome :), Cape Town based business man is also the loving husband to our Founder Brig. :)
This brave man, apart from not really having a choice, being Brig's husband, is to be the voice of reason, ( which I think may be a practised past time) and business guide for the foundation. Having a group of loud, rowdy, head strong and stubborn ladies on the team- Greg, Thank you!!Thank you for your love of animals, your support of Brig and her crazy troupe of ladies, and for your valuable input!!!

and then.. Me! Leigh Meyer
Based in Durban, I consider myself SUPER lucky to be a part of DLD, and lucky enough to be trusted with the wonderful job of co-ordinating the Durban show. With a love of animals, but haunted by the fact that I felt helpless to help the hundreds of needy furbabies out there- Dancers Love Dogs has given my life a whole new meaning. This organisation has become part of me, part of my goals for the future, part of my family.
Each of the people in this special family have inspired me in their own way- I urge all of you out there to get involved, how ever small your role, I guarantee it to be the most rewarding thing you have done. Follow our blog and website to keep up to date with all our latest news and details.

Thank you all for taking the time to read our Blog! We value your support more than we would ever be able to express. You are all the reason we can make the difference that we are.

We hope to see you at the Artscape Opera Theatre, on the 25th of May this year. It is all going to be bigger and better. A huge variety of performers and acts that will leave you inspired and in awe, plus spot prizes, great raffles and silent auctions- this evening is a treat for the whole family... see you there!

Wishing you all a wonderful week, check in next week for another little peek into the magic.

We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals. – Immanuel Kant
